This role will also be responsible for designing and evolving integration patterns and data models and educating other teams on what data is available, how we integrate data in our Business Intelligence systems, and how best to access and use the data downstream in reporting, analytics, or APIs. Specific responsibilities include: · Work with business users, stewards, and developers to understand business requirements and targets. Design Business Intelligence solutions or review proposed BI solutions · Assist project teams in navigating existing data models on various data platforms. Provide expertise on data from SAP, Salesforce, Teradata, etc.; different departments, regions, and subject areas. Review data model designs and solutions for best practices. Build enterprise data models at the appropriate data layers to achieve best design · Drive data discovery and profiling around new data sources or new uses of existing data sources. Perform technical management tasks like: Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders around data, Communicate data available and engineering patterns, Partner with regional and departmental teams to strengthen the solutions and data models · Contribute metadata and knowledge artifacts into Haystack (global metadata platform) Competencies: · Business Acumen. Able to understand the business processes enabled by the products supported and contribute to the solution definition. Able to deliver business insight, anticipate business needs and translate them into business requirements and metrics to track business performance. · Technical Acumen. Able to understand the technology concepts used on projects in enough depth to challenge assumptions, estimates, approaches, and risks. Possess understanding of technical design, programming, database, infrastructure, and quality assurance. Conflict management. Ability to defuse tension among teams, should it arise. · Adaptable. Flexible during times of change. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Delegation. Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment. Able to lead several large-scale or complex projects simultaneously. · Collaboration. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, internal business clients, and other departments. Required skills / experience: · Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience · 5+ years of experience in Data Architecture or BI Solution Architecture. Strong experience with data management and business intelligence technologies, particularly SAP, Teradata, Oracle, Business Objects, SAP Business Warehouse or similar. Adept at discovering opportunities to mine insights from business data sets and finding greater insights from the linkage of these data sets.
