This position is within the Data Strategy and Integration team which is part of the ETAM Data and Information Analytics group. The ETAM technical landscape consists of a typical data warehouse architecture leveraging Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, TFS etc.). We pull data from multiple disparate feeds, and integrate into various DataMarts for reporting and extraction. The Strategy and Integration team is responsible for developing data requirements, integrating new data sources, managing the transformation of data sources from R&D to endorsed System of Records (SOR)/System of References (SORes), implementing operational controls and ensuring compliance with OLAs and SLAs. In order to meet our strategic goals we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Systems Engineer to join our team. Our Target Operating Model requires us to integrate 100+ data feeds as well as make better use of our existing feeds. To that end the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing ETL solutions to integrate these data sources primarily via Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services. Primary Responsibilities Include: • Partnering with source system technical SMEs, our Data Analysts and Modelers to rapidly integrate complex data sources into our environment. • Shepherding solutions through the testing phase, taking responsibility for resolving defects. • Creating technical documentation required as part of the standard software development lifecycle. • Ensuring their code is robust, performant and supportable in an enterprise production environment. o That it provides appropriate logging, proactive data quality checks and error handling. • Acting as an escalation point for production issues raised post implementation. • Define our technical strategy for ETL development within ETAM. o Establishing design and coding standards. o Leveraging source code control o Participating and providing critical feedback in peer reviews. Basic Qualifications: 7+ years of application development and implementation experience. Minimum Qualifications: • Advanced Microsoft SQL Stack Developer. (MS SQL Server and SSIS) • Fluent with SQL syntax. • Strong demonstrable experience on Data Projects as a key contributor. • Comfortable reviewing others work through a critical lens and providing constructive feedback. • Strong troubleshooting, resolution, technical, and critical thinking skills • Ability to pick-up new concepts and skills quickly • Determination to overcome obstacles • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Familiarity with Source Code Control concepts. (MS Team Foundation Server or other) • Willingness to take initiative and balance multiple priorities. Should self-start and complete projects without close supervision Preferred Qualifications: • Direct experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Master Data Services, Data Quality Services. • Proficient in Teradata, Oracle and other Database platforms such as DB2, • Experience with Ab Initio • IT Asset Management concepts or direct industry experience in an IT Asset Management team / function. • Working in Agile Teams. • Experience with Dan Linstedts Data Vault Concept. • Experience with Sharepoint development, .net. • Experience working   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
