Job Description Developer: System Development Methodologies., CA Gen Version 8.5, Full Life-Cycle Development Experience, IBM Mainframe DB2 IBM Mainframe COBOL MQ

Description:

The Client is seeking a short term (approx. 7-8 months) resource to provide development support for the architecture, design, develop, modification, testing, and implementation of the required changes to the EPICS System to be in compliance with a Federal Audit. These required changes will impact the way the EPICS System functions and will affect the interface with the Federal Treasury Offset Program (TOP). The modifications to the EPICS System must be written in CA Gen version 8.5 and be able to support any enhancements related to these required modifications within the core application. All changes to this application and its infrastructure must be addressed in a professional manner using Client System Development Life Cycle methodology to ensure success, and to meet the business needs of the department.


Required Skills:

* Experience with structured system development methodologies, preferably waterfall method
* Experience programming in CA Gen version 8.5
* Full life-cycle development experience supporting applications written in CA Gen
* Experience programming with IBM mainframe DB2
* Experience programming in IBM mainframe COBOL
* Extensive expertise conducting problem analysis and issue resolution
* Experience installing, configuring, monitoring, supporting/maintaining and developing applications in a mainframe environment
* Experience programming with MQ Series
* Experience in data transfer and interface methodologies between mainframes and mainframe to servers in a statewide environment
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills
* Ability to translate and communicate highly technical concepts to both technical and non-IT business users
* Ability to develop relationships/ partnerships with customers



Desired Skills:


* Local candidates in the Raleigh/Triangle area
* Experience performing business requirements definitions, reviewing functional specifications, developing test plans, & performing application testing
* Excellent written skills including experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word and Excel)
* Experience developing in an environment that includes the following development tools: CICS, EZTrieve+,Zeke, X/PTR, Endevor, & CA Tools & Utilities.
* Experience with test environment design, setup, load, and refresh concepts and procedures.
* Experience with IRS publication 1075 concepts and procedures.
* Knowledge of IBM Websphere Enterprise Service Bus
