In addition to providing technical support and service to these areas, the incumbent may also perform the following functions: supervising, requisitioning, defining, initiating, specifying, documenting and training. Responsibilities Act independently with minimal supervision to conduct smaller approved projects. Expected to make suggestion on improvements based on recent technical knowledge. Able to contribute to cost estimating of major capital budget items and the spending of approved project funds. Contribute to the planning and execution of components of the development process, which apply to product revision or enhancement or a defined piece of a larger project. Ability to manage routine small projects without assistance. Investigate and analyze customer service problems and design improvement suggestions. Recommend design improvements. Write, review, analyze and revise written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and submit procedural changes as needed to meet Corporate, Divisional, Plant, Regulatory Requirements, etc. Perform in-depth internal assessments and evaluations by collecting and analyzing accurate, objective evidence regarding risks and their magnitude. Assessments and information gathering may be through in-depth employee interviews, flow charting and other informational gathering techniques. Work closely with production supervisors, quality, engineering and other internal groups to accomplish the above and influence necessary actions. Determine the logic, adequacy and effectiveness of processes, systems and related requirements. Develop plans to correct identified risks including areas of non-conformance. Inform management and implement approved corrective action plans. Participate in external assessments and audits by evaluating and solving product/process problems by providing technical, analytical and supervisory skills Support process with timely closure of observations/audit items. Oversees audits of various reports (Protocols, Qualifications, Regulatory Submissions, etc.) Participate in QA/QC multi-site projects in the role of contributor, coordinator, or lead. May be asked to create samples to be tested. Other duties, tasks or projects as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplines. Must have initial training in concepts of Six Sigma quality techniques. Must know how to effectively run projects, coordinate contractors, and direct the activities of a technician Strong interpersonal skills and great attention to detail are necessary. Must be a strong team player with good problem solving, and good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently, have computer experience and have knowledge of FDA Regulations, Application of Good Laboratory Practices, and Application of Good Manufacturing Practices. Must have the ability to encourage teamwork and drive decisions. Experience or knowledge in testing of plastics (like 250 ml to 5/6 liter bags) such as pressure decay; TTF+ Oven Validation, Kelva Vacuum System, AQL, small particle testing Education/Experience Bachelors of Science in Engineering (ideal discipline: Chemical or Material) 3-5 years recent and relevant quality experience with plastics design, testing, remediation, and Previous experience at a similar sized manufacturing organization Proven track record of leading small projects, working with cross-functional teams, and adhering to Regulated I   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
