The unit is the owner of the State Health Plan data and is responsible for ensuring its appropriate stewardship, management, maintenance, and security. The Data Analyst for the State Health Plan is responsible for ensuring that the analytics needs of the business are met both through being responsive to questions and through identifying areas of analytics interest and pursuing the data to reasonable solutions. The analytics to be completed include identifying problems, developing solutions, and evaluating results. Required Skills: * SAS programming expertise, Visual Analytics a plus. * Ability to analyze, review, and evaluate data for compliance with applicable standards. * Ability to assess medical cost and utilization related reports for reasonableness. * experience in projects using eligibility, claims/encounter, and/or provider data a must. * Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
