In order to avoid falling behind with the SCUBI Project schedule dictated by the Consortium, the State of North Carolinas Division of Employment Security (DES) seeks to procure one (1) contractor to fill a Network Engineer role to install, maintain, and monitor network components to the current DES IT network that interface with the Xerox data center and the NC ITS network. Sample Role Types: Network Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist Expected Skills: Ability to install and maintain network components for enterprise networks that are distributed and require a high degree of encryption and security. Ability to work without assistance; can provide leadership to others; ability to manage highly complex work efforts. This position requires an advanced degree in computer science and at least 10 years of experience in advance network development, implementation, and maintenance. Required Skills: * Experience in advance Cisco network design, development and implementation. * Experience in installing & maintaining network components for distributed enterprise networks requiring high degree of encryption and security. * Skilled experience at installation and maintenance of hardware AND software for computer networks * Specialized knowledge of installation of cable, wiring and related equipment for storage, server, router, and load balancing systems * Specialized knowledge of disaster recovery / back up network architectures * Must have advance network diagramming skills using a tool like Visio. * Specialized knowledge of virtual machines including installation and maintenance * Specialized knowledge of server-network infrastructures * Specialized knowledge of TCP/IP * Advanced experience in server-network infrastructures to support a distributed cloud environment   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
