This includes the following activities: 1. Develop, and implement ArcSDE feature datasets and classes for the NCDOTs core GIS strategic transportation planning datasets; 2. Establish and develop maintenance procedures for sound backup and recovery for core client GIS strategic transportation planning datasets; 3. Develop and create maintenance procedures for annual processing; 4. Troubleshooting ArcSDE for connectivity, access, performance and other issues. 5. Provide consultation to development teams and business units; 6. Follow procedures for applying service packs and upgrades for ArcSDE in client environment; 7. Setup and maintain documentation and standards. Required Skills: * Advanced knowledge and experience with GIS industry principles, theories and best practices; • Good understanding of underlying SQL Server database; • Good knowledge and experience developing physical database design; • Advanced knowledge of SQL applied to Geodatabases; • Advanced understanding of GIS data formats, data conversion and data maintenance concepts; * Knowledge and experience with spatial data governance; • The ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret organizational and procedural problems in order to make recommendations and alterations to existing procedures; • Knowledge of the ArcSDE database administrator process; • Proficiency with Esri suite of software products • Proficiency with Python scripting • Knowledge with Esri ArcPy site-package • The ability to work within activity schedules from high level requests • The ability to work proficiently with minimal daily guidance • The ability to communicate efficiently in oral and written forms   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
