This project will improve the overall development framework of our existing North Carolina Juvenile Online Information Network (NC-JOIN) System by replacing its commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) framework with todays standard, best-practice Java-based platform and provide efficiencies for future rapid application development cost savings. Currently, NC-JOIN collects a significant volume of information on Juveniles served (i.e. demographic information, offense information, court history, program placement, supervision, facility stays, recidivism, etc). NC-JOIN has been our signature application during the first 12 years of the Department and will continue to be for future years to come. NC-JOIN is a valuable asset to those who plan and evaluate programs and services.
