The selected candidate will be the primary NCDOT lead for the requirements, business processes and testing activities for the ROME Project . The main responsibilities include: ? Work with the project team and vendor to develop and analyze the business and technical requirements for ROME ? Use techniques such as cases, storyboards and JAD sessions to help identify and gain agreement on the requirements ? Create and manage the requirements documentation for the project ? Lead the planning and execution of testing activities for the ROME Project, to include test plans, test cases and user acceptance ? Build a requirements traceability matrix to verify successful delivery of all ROME requirements ? Ensure requirements across NCDOT are represented in the project documentation ? Support the NCDOT project manager in planning deliverables, scope, schedule and other aspects of the project ? Provide knowledge transfer and training to NCDOT personnel, per project plans ? Work effectively within the GIS Units project team model ? Help support achievement of the ROME business case Note: For this position, soft skills are as important as technical skills, particularly in communication and facilitation skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required skills and experience needed include: ? Extensive experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions ? Demonstrated experience developing, analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements ? Ability to document use cases and develop process flow diagrams ? Extensive experience planning and overseeing software test activities, to include formal user acceptance ? Ability to develop and deliver high-quality project documentation ? Ability to translate technical information into business language to ensure understanding of the requirements by both technical and non-technical personnel ? Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms ? Excellent facilitating and consensus-building skills ? Strong team orientation Preferred: ? Experience managing projects ?
