This position works within the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) G6 Directorate of Information Management (DOIM). This work includes serving as a Layer 2 (switches and hubs) network administrator, managing enterprise network infrastructure, developing, defining, assessing and recommending switch-level network solutions to NEC personnel and assisting the NEC staff in resolving network problems; completing documentation and coordinating with national level (NGB) networking personnel or other information technology staff (e.g., server admins, helpdesk staff). All work performed falls within the constraints of AR 25-1, 25-2 as well as CYBERCOM, NETCOM, NGB and NEARNG NEC directives. This position supports all members of the NEARNG and Nebraska Military Department (NMD). This position works directly with G6 information technology staff to include Network Enterprise Center (NEC) staff and System Support Help Desk staff. This position also occasionally coordinates with RTI, Aviation and Recruiting & Retention IT staff on issue resolution. Mandatory Position Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen (proof of citizenship required upon selection) Associates Degree in computer science, information technology or related technology field OR 3 years equivalent experience in information technology, preferably networking. Candidates MUST have Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification OR CompTIA Network+ OR College Transcripts that show formal networking education. Proof of certification must be provided upon candidate selection. This is to ensure that the candidate has some measure of a formal networking education. Minimum two years experience in providing associate level networking services. Must meet DoD 8570.1 IA Workforce Baseline level IAT-II or higher (see attached DoD 8570.1 IA Workforce Table AP3 at end of position description). IAT-II certifications required include CompTIA Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security. All higher-level certifications cover IATII requirements (Example: CASP certified individual is certified at IAT-I through III). Proof of certification must be provided upon candidate selection. If candidate is not IAT-II compliant, the candidate has a 6 month grace period to become compliant. If after 6 months the candidate is not compliant, the contracting company must remove the candidate and provide a qualified, compliant candidate. Initial Screening: If selected, the candidate must successfully pass a State of Nebraska-processed background investigation of education, Federal criminal record, eVerify, OIG-GSA, drug test and sex offender checks. Federal Screening: An NACI (also known as NACLC or T1 background check) is required by Federal personnel management prior to issue of contractor CAC card for system access. NACI checks are completed by the NEARNG personnel security manager and are funded by National Guard Bureau. The selected candidate also must sign an information non-disclosure agreement (upon selection). Demonstrate Knowledge of: Networking concepts (specifically layer 2 switching), associate knowledge of DNS / DHCP / FTP / SSH and TFTP, Cisco iOS commands, network operations, security concepts, RADIUS or TACACS+, SNMPv3, SolarWinds Orion or equivalent monitoring system management, and network monitoring concepts (i.e. syslog).
