Under general direction, responsible for all phases of development and maintenance on assigned computer applications; communicates with business analysts to determine system requirements; researches system enhancements and problems; performs analysis and design of computer applications; performs programming and testing; performs related work as assigned. Candidates work directly with various levels of business and technical staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. Candidates designs, codes, tests and documents computer programs. Candidates have full technical knowledge of all phases of applications development and the development technologies utilized. Candidates provide production support for large, complex applications including the ability to resolve problems in constrained timeframes. Candidates may be responsible for mentoring less experienced team members. Candidates may manage small-to-medium projects or components of larger projects. Candidates have strong organization, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience must be current within the last year. Candidates have strong written and verbal communication skills. Required Skills : * Associate Degree in IT related field of study or equivalent. * At least five (5) years full lifecycle software development experience. Software development experience must be current in the last 12 months and must be in support of a large-scale, complex application system. * At least five (5) years software development experience with the Sybase PowerBuilder Integrated Development Environment (IDE), version 11.0 or higher. Experience must be current in the last 12 months. * At least five (5) years GUI and object-oriented development experience involving a sophisticated, large-scale client/server application (150+ windows) with a Microsoft Windows client and a relational database server. Experience must be current in the last 12 months. * At least five (5) years experience with relational databases, including logical design, understanding of physical design components, and complex SQL accessing a large, complex application database (on the order of 200+ tables, 1500+ columns, 200+ relationships, 200+ million rows). Experience must be current in the last 12 months. * Experience with researching and resolving online production support issues of a large, complex application including the ability to resolve problems in constrained timeframes and using structured procedures and guidelines. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to gather and provide information effectively, regardless of audience. * Must be able to work well within a team environment and have exceptional collaborative skills. Must be service oriented with strong interpersonal skills with all levels of business and technical staff. * Demonstrated analytical skills that include working directly with business staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. * Must be able to perform analysis and create supporting technical documentation. * Must have good overall PC skills including the use of Microsoft Office products * Strong organization, planning, problem solving, and decision making skills. Comfortable prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. * Must be able to operate effectively within existing development environments and processes, yet offer process improvement suggestions. * Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
