It requires experience in formulating technical solutions and leading a matrixed development team towards that solution. Knowledge in the card industry helps. While the role requires some traditional BA skills, it is slanted more towards the traditional Systems Analyst duties. *Works as the primary interface between the Business and Technology in order to analyze and validate published Business Requirements and turn them into functional solutions. *Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and plays an active role in providing direction, oversight and coordination to functional requirements management activities across the project lifecycle. *Define, analyze, evaluate and design large and complex solutions to meet technology and business needs. *Translate business requirements into specific functional requirements, process flows, data flows, User Interface definitions, Business Rule definitions, Use Case specifications, etc. *Collaborate with Systems Architect(s) and SMEs to develop High-Level solution designs. *Prepare Functional Design by analyzing requirements, constructing diagrams, studying system capabilities, and writing specifications. *Responsible for coordinating the technical solution across several technology teams in a matrix organization. Decision Making / Problem Solving: *Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department.*Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems.*Uses some independent judgment to identify problems and recommend solutions. Technical Skills/Knowledge: *In-depth knowledge of several applications, technologies, business acumen, organization, versatility, interpersonal, client focus. *Broad/versatile knowledge of debit and credit products and services, and the business and technical processes used to enable those products and services. *Understanding of infrastructure engineering with baseline knowledge of application architecture, integration architecture and data architecture. *Significant knowledge of requirements engineering and familiarity with at least one software development lifecycle methodology. *Baseline understanding of project management. *Ability to independently facilitate complex data gathering and design collaboration meetings, as well as JAD sessions and Design walkthroughs. *Ability to develop and manage critical success factors. *Strong computer proficiency, particularly MS Office Suite. *Strong diagramming proficiency, preferably with MS Visio. *Strong logical reasoning skills, with the ability to solve problems. *Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal. *Good leadership and decision making skills, with the ability to influence others. Minimum Job-Related Experience: Bachelor Degree from a 4-year college or university in the area of Systems/Technology desired (work experience in financial systems may be substituted). Minimum five years of experience in financial systems required. Term: This is intended to be a Temp-to-Hire position. Assuming the candidate performs well during the Temp phase, an offer will be made for full-time permanent employment with Fiserv. Special Knowledge: Experience in designing home-grown data migration or data conversion tools & utilities (i.e. not an ETL tool) is helpful.
