Technical skills: 1) RedHat RHEL 6 high performance clustering 2) Linux performance tuning 3) Exposure to application support with direct user access to the servers 4) Hardware, OS and application troubleshooting 5) DR design/execution, Hitachi HUR 6) Shell/Perl/Python scripting 7) Veritas VCS ) Exposure and support of the following applications: SAS, SPLUS, SCRSP, CPlex, WorldScope, Axioma, R 9) SAN storage: Hitachi and EMC 10) Linux Networking (TCP/IP, VLANS, SNMP, DHCP) 11) Load balancing, firewalls 12) Terminal tools: OpenText Exceed, SmartTerm, Putty, SSH, VNC 13) System health and application level monitoring 14) Likewise and AD domain groups 15) IT security knowledge 16) Capacity management 17) TSM backups 18) Samba 19) File transfer utilities and protocols Expected Responsibilities: Experience building and supporting large scale infrastructure projects within financial services company. Exposure included but not limited to supporting projects for trading applications infrastructure, high availability environment, clustering, SDLC and disaster recovery planning. Familiarity with Front Office technology stack and with lines of business (Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives) is preferred. Must display the ability to provide clear, precise and timely communication. Able to manage users expectations and work autonomously. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment running multiple projects simultaneously, must be capable of managing uncertainty and change in a less defined environment.
