Job Description Analyst: Application Development, Database Experience, Complex SQL, Design And Development J2EE Oracle PLSQL

Responsibilities

* Design and develop solutions in the Compliance and OFAC Scanning discipline

* Provide innovative design solutions forsystems initiatives

* Review and develop application code for new and modified programs that meet user requirements and conform to departmental SDLC standards

* Create and execute unit test cases while clearly documenting all test results

* Support business users during user acceptance testing

* Communicate effectively and proactively with business users, vendor, and all systems staff

* Work independently with above groups


Qualifications
Analytical skills

* Well-developed research and analytical skills with good problem solving and lateral thinking ability.

* Ability to conceptualize, and recommend simpler, improved, and alternative solution(s).

* Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and be well organized

* Strong data collection skills using modestly complex tools and data structures and the ability to present and explain the data

* Critically evaluate information and summarize into detailed description of issue(s)

* Prepare essential documentation to define requirements, test plans, analysis, etc.


Management skills

* Team player; must be self motivated, have strong analytical skills, plan and manage time effectively, and be customer-focused

* Able to work well with others both in the team as well as with users

* Ability to reset priorities based on changing Operations area demands.

* Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Technical and development knowledge

* 7 plus years of solid application development and database analysis with strong JAVA emphasis

* Strong Database skills using complex SQL (joins, merge, group by, unions, distinct, etc.)

* Solid experience in the design and development of n-Tier Object Oriented software applications using Java J2EE (JDK 1.6+)

* Applied knowledge of basic JAVA Object oriented design, JAVA threading with the ability to apply the design to an Operational problem.

* Experience in supporting production environments.

Technical Skills

* Oracle 11 / PLSQL/ JAVA 1.6 and above / UNIX – KSH / ECLISPSE / XML / Apache POI / Apache FOP

* COGNOS / Microsoft SQL Server / WebSphere / RAD / Dimesion / FTP – a plus
