Job Description : It is seeking a VMware/VCORE Administrator to provide an optimal Level 3 support for VMWare Server virtualization infrastructure, and hardware; as well as interfacing with development and the hardware vendors Responsibilities: Support of server operating systems to include VMWare ESX / vSphere as well as server class hardware and infrastructure. This team will also support and maintain infrastructure related tools installed on these platforms. Develop and implement technical solutions based on defined business requirements. Perform analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing IBMi systems. Coordinate and mange tasks for numerous simultaneous projects related to IBMi virtual environment Enhancements. Identify technical environment issues and recommend solutions to mitigate problems with OS and software issues prior to contacting the manufacturer or developer for repair/replacement. Research and test recurring problems, determine anomalies within supported software applications. Provide expertise on virtual related systems and related infrastructure. Resolve advanced and complex problems independently. Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems escalated form IT support systems and support calls. Work with other groups and outside vendors as needed to resolve problems. Monitor entire problem resolution process. Assist Tier 1-2 support teams as needed and provide Tier 3-4 support for VMware virtual hardware and operating system when required. Update and create technical product troubleshooting documentation. Perform special projects and assignments when necessary. Provide development support to the application development teams. Work with Mission Critical applications in keeping their Message Queue up and functioning Respond to engagements requests from business units needs. Develop and implement solutions to support other internal technology teams Fully document all related activities associated with Tier 3 escalations, service incidents, projects or installation utilizing current tracking systems and databases. Hands-on resources for all Virtual hardware. Manage workload and balance with normal organizational process requirements; including change control and project documentation. Point of escalation for Support Teams. Partner with senior to identify technical environment issues and implement solutions to mitigate problems Research and determine anomalies within supported software applications Update and create technical product trouble-shooting documentation Assists in mentoring and coaching entry level teammates Consults with leadership on complex and unusual problem Qualifications: BA, BS or equivalent job experience; Technical certification is desirable. 7-10 years experience in an IT infrastructure support position in a large-scale environment specific to Virtualization with VMware Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.
