This team owns a mission-critical solution utilized both internally and externally by our customers for policy management. This position is for a very experienced senior C# developer with at least 7 years of focus on performance tuning and optimization of C# code and Microsoft SQL Server. This developer will work with a mid-size team to fine tune and improve the performance capabilities and support infrastructure related to the solution across multiple tiers of the application. The application consists of a Smart Client (WinForms app) that leverages both WCF and ASMX web services to interface with a SQL Server data store as well as other service providers. This developer will work across all of these tiers to improve the overall performance of the application. Important: though web development experience is valuable for supporting sites, our need for now is not for web development skills per se outside of the creation and design of WCF and ASMX web services. The primary focus is more on middle-tier and backend performance and processing. Responsibilities include design, development, unit testing, and maintenance of the solution. Areas of development focus on improving system performance and/or extending software infrastructure capabilities, which may involve design and code changes to the web, server APIs, database and third party interface technologies. The developer works closely with technical leads and architects to understand requirements, determine functional design, and implement within the solution.
