Perform the planning, evaluation, analysis, and recommendation of technical computing products on medium to large projects - recognized as an expert throughout the department. Provide advanced level technical product support including response to user questions, installation, system monitoring, testing, problem diagnosis, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance. Facilitate and perform the delivery of technical services including the preparation of cost justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations. Formulate and direct the preparation of technical procedures, documentation, manuals, and reports. Maintain technical industry knowledge and understanding of AEP infrastructure. Mentor and provide functional/technical leadership and work direction to staff. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Exhibits advanced level proficiency in system administration plus, exhibits advanced level knowledge of one or more specific technical area that enables the administrator to serve as a senior trusted level resource in that area throughout the company. 2. Participates in technology strategy sessions. 3. Provides high level input into problem resolution calls. 4. Helps team to access proactively key measurement data and identifies ways to utilize information for enhanced performance. 5. Reviews and provides input periodically on procedures and documentation to ensure technology remains current. 6. Manage / lead / mentor staff on an indirect basis to include providing performance input. Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering related field or Associates degree with 2 years system administration related experience or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years system administration related experience. Experience: Minimum of 8 years System Administration related experience (in addition to any experience identified above). Additional Information: Licenses/Certifications: Technical certification in administration technology field preferred, but not mandatory.
