Title: ETL Developer Location: 1515 SW 5th Ave. Portland, Oregon (NO REMOTE) Duration: 18 month contract Hours: 8 to 5 – Monday – Friday Data Warehouse, ETL and Systems Development: Contributes to the growth of the Caboodle Data Warehouse by designing, developing and implementing ETL processes, SQL Server Data Structures, ANSI SQL code and SQL Server Structures. Work with BI architects, developers, analysts and users to design, create and publish ETL processes and ETL metadata using CDW, SSIS and DataStage ETL processes as required. Provide complete and consistent documentation of data warehouse content and ensure that users can determine what data is available in the warehouse, how this data is defined, how key metrics are defined and analysis is performed. Use the knowledge gained by working with the ETL team and through prior experience to analyze healthcare data in order to meet reporting requirements. Deliver additional ETL tools and/or data warehouse systems/products to improve the use of business data in the decision making process. Facilitate customer requests for new or changed solutions. Develops options with recommendation, creates functional specifications including performance requirements, creates test plans to confirm delivered functionality. System Administration & Application Management: Administers the Microsoft development toolset including SQL Server Integration Services by performing maintenance and upgrades and supporting the development team in the use of these tools. Leads the development and dissemination of SSIS development best practices including but not limited to error and status logging and development parameter management. Configures and manages the integration between TFS and SSIS in the support of code migration activities between server instances. Develops scripts and code to assist in the automation of administrative processes. Systems Engineering: Works closely with other client IT staff to meet expectations for design reviews and coding standards. Provides issue resolution during Quality Assurance / User testing. Assists with the move to production/implementation process. Troubleshoot and analyze ETL process failures, data anomalies and other ETL or data warehouse issues identified by automated monitoring, other developers and end users. Work through established processes to resolve any system or data problems and communicate updates and status to affected groups. Recommend changes to ETL processes and/or the data warehouse model to improve existing structures and code to increase reliability and efficiency. Provides technical expertise to support end users developing ad-hoc queries and departmental reports. Support could include consulting on techniques/best practices, troubleshooting of their solutions, as well as promotion of user developed solutions to Quality Assurance and Production. Respond to and track issues using HP Service Manager issue management tools. Data Modeling: Work with data warehouse developers, line-of-business analysts and users to develop data structures that support and enhance information access, analysis and reporting.
