Programmers typically are involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement & development work. * Contracted support is needed to provide research, analysis, development, testing, documenting, and deployment functions for various Access database systems and associated reports at State Hospitals within the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (OMHSAS). * Contractor will also assist in the development of a new State Facilities Tracking System which will eventually eliminate a lot of the current Access systems at the State Hospitals. OBJECTIVES OF ENGAGEMENT The contractors responsibilities will be to: * Provide software development and phone support of State Hospital Access systems to keep them up and running. * Conduct knowledge transfer activities with designated OMHSAS and BIS staff to keep these Access systems running and functional as determined by OMHSAS Central Office, State Hospitals, and BIS to which it may be applicable. * Assist in the coding of new State Facility Tracking System TASKS TO BE PERFORMED * Be able to work independently with minimal supervision. * Assist in the development of the new State Facilities Tracking System web project. * Phone and development support of State Hospital Access systems. * Engage in knowledge-transfer activities with OMHSAS Patient Tracking System users and administrative staff which includes; analysis, modification, testing, and deployment of enhanced PTS system to Wernersville to relieve immediate crisis. * Provide status reports and updates as required to designated Client Project Manager and supervisor. **The contractor MAY also be required to travel to various State Hospitals as necessary to assess and observe system issues as they arise as well as conduct deployment/training activities. Mileage reimbursement will be calculated at state rates for State Hospital on-site visits.** Required Skills: * Access Database (XP/2002 and 2007) systems (Combined exp) * MS VBA for both Access XP/2002 and 2007 (vb.net) * SQL Server 2005-2008 functional/software use * Exp w/ SQL Server security configuration * Experience w/ experience with MS Access pass-through queries * Experience with DAO/ADO objects * Exp w/ Active directory configuration * VB.Net web development * Microsoft Excel/Word (versions XP and Office 7) * Microsoft Office XP – Office 7 Suite Outlook for email correspondence Desired Skills: * Experience with change control procedures (DEV/SAT(UAT)/PROD) * C#.Net   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
