QA Engineer:



Overview

The Advanced Applications Engineering Team at Comcast is looking for an expert Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team, with a specific focus website testing. We are primarily responsible for working alongside the development and product management teams to produce high quality entertainment applications that allow our customers to access and watch recorded, On Demand, and live video content on iOS, Android, web, and TV streaming devices.

Responsibilities

- Thoroughly test consumer facing web-based entertainment applications across multiple browsers and platforms
- Triage and test fixes for bugs found during development cycles, and occasionally in production
- Work with the development and product management teams to understand and contribute to requirements and test cases for new features
- Collaborate with the functional automation team to translate regression test cases into automation scripts
- Analyze REST web services called by the application for display of data and error handling



Attributes for Success

- Extensive experience testing web applications across multiple browsers and platforms, with a large amount of users (1MM+ daily)
- Familiarity with HTTP web services, and ability to modify requests/responses to test various scenarios
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- High regard for test case maintainability
- Strong debugging skills and attention to detail
- Web test automation experience is a plus (we use Cucumber+Capybara)
- Video quality analysis is a plus
- Experience testing localized builds is a plus
