Immediately after posting closes; 9AM – 1PM EST Description: SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: Working under the direction of the Deputy CIO, within the SC Department of Administration, Division of Technology Operations (DTO), candidate will provide assistance to Data Center Infrastructure Director; support of Shared Services hardware/software vendor contracts; process net new purchases and HW/SW renewals; assist with the development/management of related budget & billing; and the testing/implementation of new software asset management system. DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES The Program Manager will be responsible for the following: Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with DTO administrative offices to carry out purchasing, billing, HR, asset management, contract management, and recovery functions in order that the team operates efficiently and effectively. Closely monitor the financial activities of his/her section, ensuring that the various server groups operate within their budgets, that customers are billed accurately in a timely manner, and that revenue recovery activities accurately function to cover operational costs. Manage area budgets and assist with development of annual budgets. 2. Assist with testing/implementation of new software asset management system. Monitor asset management service requests for quality and timely handling, and ensuring appropriate action taken when assignments are stalled. 3. Work closely with the customer service office and the project management office to respond to customer requests for service by creating detailed planning/implementation documentation, conducting thorough needs assessments, evaluating status of current service delivery efforts, documenting system outages, preparing mitigation documentation for dissemination to customer, and by developing and coordinating completion of technical service proposals as needed and/or requested. 4. Assist with Windows, Linux and Unix server, desk top engineering and virtual desktop hardware infrastructure and services. Manage software/hardware life cycle for all server and mainframe environments, ensuring stability to execute customer business functions efficiently. Meet with vendors to evaluate current and future technology with a view toward modernizing, consolidating, and implementing technologies and systems that will promote the operations of efficient, cost-effective delivery of customer service. REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): IT LEADERSHIP, CUSTOMER SERVICE, ABILITY TO PLAN, ORGANIZE, DIRECT AND REVIEW THE WORK OF MULTIPLE TEAMS OF HIGHLY SKILLED TECHNICIANS WITH EXPERTISE IN MICROSOFT, LINUX, UNIX OPERATING SYSTEMS IS REQUIRED. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE IN MANAGING PROJECTS INVOLVING, IMAGING, DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT, APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE AND LIFE CYCLE DEVELOPMENT, DATABASES, EMAIL SYSTEMS, FILE AND PRINT SERVICES, SERVER ENVIRONMENT INFRASTRUCTURE, AND SERVER VIRTUALIZATION IN MICROSOFT, LINUX AND UNIX OPERATING SYSTEM ENVIRONMENTS IS REQUIRED. SIMILAR KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE WITH STORAGE AREA NETWORK TECHNOLOGIES AND SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND OVERSIGHT ALSO REQUIRED. EXPERIENCE IN PLANNING AND SUPERVISING THE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF CLIENT SERVER AND STORAGE NETWORKS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVICE DELIVERY IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE.
