The MES Core project is a multi-year effort to enable standardized data exchange between numerous internal systems and external data trading partners. MES Core has been in production since 2018 but is continuously expanding to accommodate new systems and evolving business requirements. The Software Architect – Consultant will support the Medicaid Enterprise System Core (MES Core) development and operations teams by designing complex solutions. This position requires deep knowledge and experience with designing and building data integration solutions in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. This position requires knowledge and experience with the AWS platform as well as experience in analysis, requirements, software design and development, testing, and deployment. The ability to create a solution plan and to clearly articulate the goal of a proposed solution versus alternate solutions is critically important. We are looking for candidates with a broad set of technology skills to be able to design robust solutions on a complex Medicaid data integration project. In this role, you will support the MES Core organization for solution design and development utilizing Enterprise Architecture standards, Software Engineering best practices, and SOA component principles. Role-based security permissions for protection of Medicaid data is also a feature that must be defined and implemented as a part of solutions. Daily Duties / Responsibilities: • Design and develop architectural solutions and patterns based on AWS experience and the AWS Well-Architected Framework that optimize for: - Security - Performance - Cost • Assess current and emerging cloud technology and the capacity for integration within the agencys development framework. • Collaborate with peers for joint refinement of solutions. • Collaborate with and support development teams on solution implementation. Qualifications: Experience in designing and developing complex enterprise solutions within a service-oriented architecture with specific experience including: • Development experience in modern scripting and programming languages, especially Java, Python, and JavaScript. • Development of unit and integration tests. • Experience with noSQL data stores, preferably MarkLogic • Experience with data mining and extraction technologies • Experience in REST technologies • Experience with Java Frameworks such as Apache or Spring • Experience with serverless development in the cloud, preferably in AWS • Exposure to Agile Methodologies • Demonstrable competence in SOLID programming principles • Demons   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
