Worker Duties: * Serves as application tester to verify changes to the eGrants suite of applications meet the defined requirements and pass all phases of testing prior to their release. * Analyze problem reports from application owners to determine if the problem is an application defect, misunderstanding of application functionality or a needed system enhancements. Communicate results effectively with an emphasis on customer service by summarizing the problem reported, analysis conducted, findings and/or proposed solution. * Develop software change requests (SCR) by transforming information from customer sessions into user interface design and functional changes needed. * Analyze and review system requirements, use cases and other design documents to gain overall understanding of the functionality of the application changes, and work with the development team to determine appropriate level of testing required. * Participate in the technical reviews of components developed, if appropriate. * Work to ensure that the products delivered meet the specified requirements; meets the current standards for quality, security, performance, usability, and comply with and other standards, guidelines and best practices for protecting agency and personnel data as defined by operating processes and legislation. * Create test cases and test data for use in manual testing. Develop test plans, test cases, and execute test scripts. Document and communicate all defects or issues found during testing. * Communicate with project manager, technical team lead, development team members, and customers about testing tasks and development of software change requests. Documents all work, as requested. * Work collaboratively as a member of an agile/scrum development team to create overall test design, test cases and scripts. * Keep supervisor and management informed on issues and the status of work planned and contemplated by submitting weekly status reports. * Interface, as appropriate, in carrying out application testing responsibilities with project team members and other IT peers and management. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills: * Experience in working the full Software Development Life Cycle * Experience in designing, developing and implementing test plans, test cases, test scenarios and test reports processes for web applications from Software Requirements Specification Documentation and other specification documents. * Experience in developing software change request specifications. * Experience in setting up test data. * Experience running queries and scripts against a SQL Server 2008 database. * Experience in working with complex suite of maintenance applications built in various technologies (ASP.NET, .NET, SQL, and SQL Server) Desired Skills: * Experience in designing and building a framework for writing test scripts. * Experience working in an Agile Development environment, planning and participating in sprints. * Experience in ADA 508 compliance testing. * Experience with software change management and version management tools, preferably with Merant PVCS and Version Manager.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
