Description :

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one Database Administrator, hereafter referred to as Worker(s), who meets the general qualifications of a Database Administrator 3 Category, Legacy Technology Type and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Office of the Attorney General – Child Support Division (OAG).

All work products resulting from the project shall be considered “works made for hire” and are the property of the OAG. OAG may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by the Texas law. OAG will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Worker(s).

The worker performs highly advanced senior-level database administration and middle-ware software work for the Office of the Attorney General Child Support Division (OAG-CSD). Administration involves overseeing and validating software installations, customization, performance tuning, capacity planning and high availability of Mainframe databases and the programming environment. The worker performs related work as assigned; attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule; ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information; and complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.

Required Skills :
*Experience in computer programming, computer system analysis, database administration, system design or closely related experience.
*Experience with SAG EntireX Broker; administers SAG EntireX Broker and its configuration data; monitors availability and performance
*Maintains Broker site-coded Server program, written in Natural, and maintains Servers registration configuration data.
*Supports and advises Mainframe developers with programming and database related issues
Administers and supports DB2 Mainframe databases
*Troubleshoots the establishment of test environments; provides expertise for Test Plans
*Experience with high-volume OLTP environments
*Experience with ADABAS
*Experience working in a Mainframe z/OS environment
*Experience with logical and physical database design.
*Skill in identifying and resolving problems using strong analytical techniques, innovative approaches, and taking initiative in preventing and solving problems.
*Skill in effective oral and written communication.
*Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
*Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
*Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
*Ability to provide excellent customer service

Desired Skills :
*Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or closely related discipline
*Experience as a NATURAL Administrator
*Experience as a DB2 z/OS Administrator
*Experience in providing technical support for system architecture planning and design
*Knowledge of Texas Child Support Program
*Knowledge of Texas Child Support Enforcement System
