The selected individual will be engaged in new projects involving the testing of existing data acquisition and control systems as well as new control systems and next generation field network and wireless systems. The HW Test Engineer will be an integral part of the engineering team and will be expected to test the hardware and software from its early stages to completion. Field testing should be expected as well. The candidate will be responsible for learning all aspects of the equipment design and theory operation and will be expected to support development of detailed equipment performance and interface specifications, as well as development of detailed test procedures for the deliverable equipment. Candidate must also be able to test components including sensors, sensor data concentrators, PLC Controllers, Wireless networks, routers, PCs, Telecommunications devices and servers. The associated software testing will include Windows applications, Firmware, PLC controller logic, etc. Additionally, the Hardware Test Engineer supports the test automation effort for the hardware reliability verification team through analysis of test requirements and development of automated test scripts. Requirements: * Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical/ Computer Engineering or related field * 5+ years experience hardware test engineering Responsibilities: * Automate data collection and analysis to achieve optimal results * Work with cross functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner * Apply reliability testing principles and practices towards completion of goals * Code and test embedded applications in C++ to monitor and control engines, transmission, etc * Test control systems hardware and firmware to work with Siemens PLC * Test SDS/CA) protocol to supervise processes over wired and wireless ethernet * Resolve hardware and software product integration and validation issues * Test Distributed Control Systems * Apply product knowledge and reliability testing principles towards the development of test software for data collection and analysis in a very large reliability test environment * Perform unit test of own code, conduct code review and support existing test software * Facilitate the efficient collection of test data and report test outcomes by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing and displaying data Skills and Qualifications: * BS/MS in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent * 5+ years recent experience in a senior role in the area of design, product verification and manufacturing test development * Experience with C++ or other object-oriented programming language is required * Experience with Smart Sensors and actuators * Test automation and reliability testing experience is required * Background in Automated Testing, Black Box Testing, White Box Testing, Hardware Debugging, Hardware Testing, Hardware Quality Assurance Process is required * Extreme attention to detail * Good working knowledge of process improvement * Experience with Design of Experiments and Reliability testing is preferred * Some experience with power supplies strongly desired * HALT and/or HASS experience is preferred Qualified and interested individuals should contact John Rushlow without delay.
