Description : Scope of Work The scope of work for this contract is to provide on-going software modifications, integration and commissioning of the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) equipment and Linux computers that will be required to deploy the MMITSS-UT and related systems on Utah roads, including the snow plow pre-emption project. The services identified herein are intended to be acquired from the Consultant in individual, lump sum task orders within this new contract. The following services are needed, as a minimum: Task I. Technical Management a. Attendance at meetings, coordinate with UDOT project managers. b. Coordination with Traffic Management Division on equipment delivery, MAP messages, and DSRC licensing. c. Coordination with Region Signal Operations staff d. Coordination with hardware vendors, vehicle suppliers, and developers of the MMITSS system. e. Coordination with other users of DSRC hardware and software Task II. Software Modification a. Modify code to accommodate DSRC firmware changes, nuances in signal controller interfaces, and improvements in the intended operation of the software. b. Update code to conform to changes in the SAE J2735 message sets, including national best-practices in use of channels and message formation. c. Update code to meet changing needs in the deployment of the system and additional functionality d. Accommodate additional standardized message sets Task III. Pre-deployment testing a. Route and lane data GPS gathering b. MAP verification and testing to identify any formatting errors c. Route simulation to verify that messages are correct Task III. System Deployment a. MAP integration b. Roadside Hardware Integration i. Verify installation (i.e., surge suppression, mounting); assemble and configure roadside processor; install roadside processor (Linux computer “RSP”) in cabinet ii. Network Configuration iii. Application Configuration (RSU and RSP) – loading software on the devices and verifying operation and communication iv. Adaptation of system for new DSRC firmware, including firmware installation c. Vehicle Hardware Integration i. Assemble on-board processor (Linux computer, “OBP”) in cases. ii. Application Configuration (OBU and OBP) – loading software on the devices iii. Coordinate the installation of OBU, OBP and antennas on the snow plows and verify installation and communication. iv. Adaptation of system for new DSRC firmware. v. Network Configuration d. IP Plan development and coordination, including channel as-builts and documentation e. Support for controller mapping Task IV. System Testing a. DSRC range evaluation; adjust DSRC roadside units as necessary to optimize reception, including providing bucket truck as needed for adjustments. b. Verify that priority calls are being received by the signal controllers c. Verify the MAP extents (geofence). d. Drive the corridor to verify that all messages (BSM, MAP, SRM, SSM) are being sent and received properly, and forwarded to the Linux computers. e. Prepare report of commissioning, and document any field changes and issues. Task V. Deployment Support a. General support during deployment, including during vehicle test runs b. Go-Live support – be available to troubleshoot and adjust the system during the go-live time period to insure that the system is operating properly. c.
