Description: Purpose: The Division of Water Rights (Water Rights) needs a service/application to scan files uploaded via web forms to their servers. Specifically, the service would scan for the presence of malware in the uploaded files. Files determined to be clean (malware free) would be saved to a designated folder on the server. Infected files would not be saved. Messages would be sent back to the person uploading the file(s) indicating the success or failure of the upload. Need: Water Rights has a number of web forms used by the public to provide information to the division, such as a protest of a decision. The division has determined it needs to allow the ability of files to be uploaded with the form, to augment or provide additional information that cannot be provided in the form itself. To protect the backend server environment, all files uploaded, via a web form, need to be scanned for the presence of malware before being stored on the server. The file scan service/application should architected so that it can accept input from a number of web forms, utilize and approved AVAS software service, and store “safe” files in a designated folder. Infected or files determined to be unsafe would benot be stored on the server. Requirements: Creation of an application/service that acts as the intermediary between the calling web form and the security scan service. The called scan service will only need to scan files and determine if they are safe(clear of malware) or infected.
