Description : Executive Summary It seeks an educator for the facilitation of a 3-4 day on-site or video conference Kaizen engagement. A Kaizen, as defined for this sought out engagement, realizes continuous improvement by creating a culture within an organization that eliminates waste and actively engages identified employees to improve productivity. Improvement is based on small to medium ongoing and positive changes that net large improvements. 2.0 Problem / Opportunity Statement The focus of this particular Kaizen will be in improving SysAdmin / DevOps processes for DAS. A multiple-day, onsite engagement (or teleconference, if COVID conditions prohibit onsite) will facilitate the ability to analyze current practices, and define and uphold new practices. The facilitator must be able to collaborate with and unify all personality types within a team of 5 to 6 individuals in order to achieve one collective vision. 3.0 Current Environment The team consists of: 1 Deputy Director, 1 IT Engineering Manager, 1 IT Director, 1 Dev Manager, and 1-2 SysAdmin/DevOps personnel. A project management and development operation and platform are not currently in use (outside of Google Drive) and will be determined as part of this Kaizen. A defined structure for reporting and resolving issues, sizing projects, and supporting project development is also a primary goal. 4.0 Future Environment A product management and development operations tool with forms and workflows defined for statements of work and scoping documentation. Solutions Analysis and Estimations 5.1 Solutions Analysis The on-site engagement requirements are as follows: 1. Identification of business process owners within the team 2. A thorough analysis of the current state of operations and identification of waste 3. A definition of the desired future state as agreed to by the team 4. A roadmap with next steps, timelines, assignments to process owners, and accountability measurements must be provided on the final day of the on-site engagement Additional criteria: individual facilitator must currently hold two or more Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen/Continuous Improvement Certifications with ten years of facilitation experience AND/OR can provide twenty years worth of facilitation experience in said methodologies.
