IT Asset Management Analyst to assist the IT Asset Management Lead with computer deployments, inventory, software licensing and other duties. Complete Description: Provide technical and analytical support in order for managing software assets, including software piracy, software compliance issues both state and federal laws, reduction in software costs, software metering, and software auditing in the IT Asset Management environment. Maintain a software release management versions for VSU hosted environment, Internet software/subscription services, and third-party hosted environments. IT Software Analyst will be responsible for creating a software assessment management plan. Plan, monitor, and record software licenses, subscription services, and/or hardware maintenance agreements to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Information Technology Security Standards (SEC-501) and University IT Security policies and procedures. Develop and maintain software assets database repository throughout its life cycle. Track and maintain copies of software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and lease and vendor contracts to include contract expirations. Generate, distribute, & review software asset management reports. Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons. Terminate or cancel software licensing, as needed, in writing. Responsible for Technology Services Software Approval Process. Review the software approval requests. Maintain the Information Security Officer Software Approval Repository for campus-wide software. Serve as the Service Desk coordinator for the Software Asset Management queue. Ensure software metering. Identify opportunities for reduction in software costs. Streamline Software Reporting on quarter to annual basis. Perform reconciliation audits to compare installed software against licensed software and identification of gaps to ensure the University remains compliant to contractual true-up and true-down cycles. Match software and conduct and report software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information. Work with software vendors to review End User License Agreements (EULA) and ensure compliance. Serve as Configuration Management backup as needed. Assist with the Package and push software to VSU Constituents. Ensure IT Functional Units are applying, testing, and approving software release updates via the IT Change Advisory Board, and communicate to Configuration Manager for version upgrade roadmaps.
