Demonstrated experience: • Firm understanding of reporting software space and competing products. • Understand and be able to implement security models. • Understand and be able to implement reporting organizational structures, design and implement packages. • Understand PCD / DW structures and relationship to Cognos business layer. • Ability to train users on self-service use in Cognos. • Extensive experience with all Cognos 10 studios (Workspace Advanced, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Workspace) • Extensive experience with Framework Manager • Extensive experience with active reports, mobile reporting, graphs, and visualizations • Extensive experience with implementing row level/record level security • Knowledge of/experience with Cognos 11 • Reporting (includes list reporting, dashboards, graphs, interactive reporting, etc.) - Deep experience with architecting, designing and developing canned, interactive and self service ad hoc reporting. • Mobile Reporting - Provide senior level guidance on suggesting the best approach within Cognos for securely rendering list and interactive reporting, dashboard, graphs, data visualizations as well as limited data exploration on mobile apps on tablets and mobile devices running a variety of mobile operating systems (i.e. Apple, Droid, etc.). This could include leveraging Cognos capabilities such as Cognos Active Reports. • Data Visualization – Provide senior level guidance on implementing data visualization within Cognos where business users can understand the significance of data by placing it in a visual context that provides intuitive business information through patterns, trends and correlations that might go undetected in text-based data. Enables the exploration of data via the manipulation of chart images, with the color, brightness, size, shape and motion of visual objects representing aspects of the dataset being analyzed. This includes an array of visualization options that go beyond those of pie, bar and line charts, to include heat and tree maps, geographic maps, scatter plots and other special-purpose visuals allowing users to analyze the data by interacting directly with a visual representation of it. • Data Exploration – Provide senior level guidance on how best to architect limited data exploration use case (i.e. the business works with a pre-determined set of data and performance measures available on a recurring basis, but want to do limited data exploration themselves) as well as full data exploration (i.e. where the business may want to explore data that they have little or no knowledge, or possibly even data sources with which they have little or no knowledge). • Advanced Analytics – Provide senior level expertise and guidance on how best to architect deploy descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics through the Cognos platform, including exposure to Watson Analytics.
