Description:

Client needs two (2) IT Software Testers to plan, manage, and execute software testing for the Vehicle Reservations Project (VRS). The position will report to the Software Development Team Lead for direction concerning the project and to the QA Testing Team Lead on testing practices for client.

PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK:

These positions serve as IT Software Testers within clients organization with specialized knowledge and expertise in IT software testing methodology.

The VRS Project is vital to the efficient utilization of assets managed by the client. The system is currently under development using a combination of tools, including C#, asp.NET, and Enterprise Architect. Portions of the solution will also be integrated with programs written in Embarcadero Technologies Delphi 4GL.

Software tester duties on this project may include:

* Independently plan, manage and execute the testing of the developed software,
* Learn the documentation tools used by WSDOT (specifically Enterprise Architect from Sparx Systems).
* Utilizes expert knowledge of testing techniques and methodologies to manage and execute functional software testing.
* Assist Ferries Division business teams with User Acceptance Testing and IT system implementation and integration to ensure that customer requirements are met and that projects are completed on time, within budget and are consistent with IT standards.

Specific duties include:

* Interact and consult with the Project Manager, developers, and Ferries Division business teams concerning testing status, bugs, and requirements clarifications.
* Responsible for the development of a test plan
* Responsible for the development and execution of test scripts.
* Responsible for documentation of bugs found during testing and communication regarding same to the Project Manager and developers.
* Manage project bug tracking and resolution processes so that a consistent, documented process is used and followed.
* Promote an open environment of cooperation.
* Maintain open channels of communication between team and management.


Documentation of work to include:

* Test Plan
* Test Scripts
* Traceability Matrices
* Problem Tracking Reports/status
* Customer Acceptance Document (template to be provided)
* Other project related documentation as required by the IT Project Manager

Required Skills:

* Minimum of 8 years experience in IT Software Testing
* Minimum of 6 years organizing and coordinating the participation of customer groups and project staff involved in the testing process.
* Minimum of 6 years experience working with software application development projects that follow the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
* Minimum of 5 years developing Test Plans including: Test Scripts, Traceability Matrices, Problem Tracking Reports, and Status Reports
* Minimum of 4 years experience working with the Unified Modeling Language (UML); specifically Use Cases.
* Minimum of 4 years experience translating Use Cases into Test Cases.
* Minimum of 4 years experience estimating time and effort of testing related tasks based on agency and software development lifecycle methodologies

Desired Skills:

* Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
* Knowledge and skill using the MS Office Suite
* Knowledge and skill using MS Visio
* Knowledge and skills using Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect (system development tool)
* Knowledge and skills in gathering and documenting business requirements
* Knowledge and skills creating UML documentation including Use Case diagrams and w
