This position coordinates GIS server-based hardware and software releases, upgrades, and patching; manages GIS server and desktop software licenses; plans and implements system upgrades; administers and troubleshoots GIS applications, services, and data repository hosting components; monitors the performance of GIS infrastructure components; develops, documents, and maintains maintenance and backup/restore procedures for GIS infrastructure components; and optimizes GIS infrastructure processes to maintain stability and reliability of the GIS infrastructure to ensure continuity of operations. Position possesses experience in geospatial infrastructure design, implementation, and administration with a focus on the integration of internal business systems across multiple functional areas. Evaluates and conducts R&D on emerging GIS infrastructure solutions and enterprise infrastructure integration, mobile GIS tools, and advanced web mapping systems utilization. Effectively communicates and coordinates activities with other GIS and IT support staff and program customers to ensure business deliverable continuity. Performs varied degrees of quality assurance validation measures to ensure infrastructure, application, and data integrity. Has knowledge of advanced integrated technology methods and related concepts, practices, and procedures within the geospatial technology discipline. Qualifications - Geospatial Architect/Administrator capabilities with 5 or more years of relevant professional experience, relies on skills, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project assignments. Works within teamwork situations to discuss and develop options, plans, and strategies, and then independently performs a variety of complicated architecture and technical administrator tasks.
