Analyst: MS Office Suite Of Products, MS Visio, Problem Solving Skills, Analytical Skills HCM HR Data

Description :
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Experienced with business processing and identifying new applications of technology to business problems to make business more effective. Familiar with industry standards, current and emerging technologies, and business process mapping, and reengineering. Business Analyst/Consultant capabilities with 4-7 years of experience in the field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
UW SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provide business process expertise within the PeopleSoft HCM environment including HR, Benefits, Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Finance.
2) Develop and recommend business process efficiencies, particularly within the Absence Management module.
3) Problem-solve and detailed system analysis work requiring comprehensive business knowledge and interpretation of policies, business rules, and regulations, and / or pay plan provisions.
4) Analysis and resolution of transaction adjustments in HCM.
5) Analysis and documentation of business processes in HCM as they pertain to the Absence Management module.
6) Execution of test scripts, and evaluation and documentation of test results.
The University of Wisconsin System is one of the largest systems of public higher education in the country and employs more than 40,000 faculty and staff statewide. This position is located within the UW-Service Center (SC) which serves the entire UW System relating to the functional activities within the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM). This position will have a particular focus within the Human Resources (HR), Talent Acquisition Management (TAM), and Financial Integration.
The Service Center is in the process of upgrading HCM from version 9.0 to version 9.2. This position will provide backfill support to operations throughout the upgrade.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide business process expertise within the PeopleSoft HCM environment including HR, TAM, Benefits, Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Financial Integration.
- Develop and recommend business process efficiencies, particularly within HR, TAM, and Financial Integration.
- Problem-solve and detailed system analysis work requiring comprehensive business knowledge and interpretation of policies, business rules, and regulations, and / or pay plan provisions.
- Analysis and resolution of transaction adjustments in HCM.
- Analysis and documentation of business processes in HCM as they pertain to HR, TAM, Financial Integration.
- Execution of test scripts, and evaluation and documentation of test results.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience as an analyst working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, preferably working in Human Resource Information Systems or related systems.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing data sets and queries. Experience using PeopleSoft Query preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting and tuning operational transactions in an ERP.
- Ability to research and apply policy interpretations.
- Experience troubleshooting and providing technical support to end users.
- Advanced skill using desktop applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Visio.
