DPH has implemented a number of systems over a long period of time, each for a specific program and using a technology that was in vogue at that point in time. The quality of data within the systems varies, some data are kept up to date, some are point-in-time, and some systems have allowed multiple client records for the same individual. We now want to create a system that allows all of the data in these disparate systems to be linked in order to assemble all data related to some specific population being studied, appearing as if they are part of an integrated data structure. We want the new structure defined to be extendable so that at some point in time it can support a common customer table that serves all of the host systems, but for the first step we want the structure to allow connection of the data across systems. --The person best suited to perform this task will have experience working as an application architect, defining frameworks for new integrated systems. Experience with relational database structures and messaging systems will assist in defining the framework required. Since this is a new application, the ability to relate to multiple customers with different business needs and to present solutions that offers new opportunities but relates to their need is a requirement. Candidates should also have experience defining work plans that illustrate how the tasks required to construct the framework need to be sequenced. The Enterprise Architect will have access to business experts, DBAs and application maintenance staff to provide background and individual application expertise. --Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting required. --First year runs through 12/31/14, with two optional one-year renewals. ***Continued engagement anticipated through 2015 *** --A background check will be required prior to hire.
