Primary duties will be to work on two different databases (DB2 and SQL Server) including CDC and SSIS packages. Create SSIS packages to support CDC and perform ETL from CDC tables to History tables without losing any data. Depending on the candidates experience she/he may assist developing core backend .NET code using C#. This candidate is required to analyze the current production database (DB2) and the new database (SQL Server), and work with the business unit to create requirements for data migration. The candidate is also responsible for data migration leadership including planning and migration execution of high-profile modernization projects, documenting database and migration processes, .NET and SSIS package development and creating data flow diagrams, developing strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and cleaning and maintaining the database by removing and deleting old data. The candidate will adhere to consistent data migration processes and must have experience in versatile software data ETL approaches. Project duties include SSIS, CDC, dry-runs, testing, quality reports, exception reports and production deployment processes. Expert communication skills are required for ensuring requirements are understood by business units and the project team. Candidates must: • Develop, implement, and optimize in-application SQL statements, stored procedures and functions using T-SQL • Have strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases • Create database triggers for use in automation • Have experience and expertise in leading large and complex data migration projects • Have In depth experience in SQL Server, T-SQL, Visual Studio, and C# • CDC and SSIS experience • Possess excellent communication skills and be a team player • Be self-organizing and proficient executing data migration activities independently, demonstrate extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Candidates with business knowledge and prior experience with the CARES system, and/or familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems, procedures, and development standards is a plus. • Develop, implement, and optimize in-application SQL statements, stored procedures and functions using T-SQL. • Have strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases. • Create database triggers for use in automation Designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance. o Design, write and modify SQL Server database to improve application processing from mainframe to web-based application, data transfer to internal databases and the processing of the application data. • Data architecture, creation of MS SQL tables, views, triggers, and other objects required for web application using MS SQL Server 2014, 2016 and 2017. o Design better T-SQL queries with experience in query optimization & performance tuning.
