Consultants of this category offer high-level consulting skills to agency programs on the selection and use of geospatial technologies; working as a liaison and advocate with program customers in representing program business requirements and plans; reviewing the design, development and implementation of GIS projects to ensure appropriate technology implementation, quality and adherence to framework standards; providing consulting GIS specific high-level expert consultation to an agency and enterprise on strategic evaluation and/or adoption of new and emerging technologies; implementing and/or facilitating geospatial system analysis and design efforts; establishing agency-wide technical standards, policies and frameworks; providing geospatial specific project management services, and supporting customer business operations. Qualifications - Geospatial Services Consultant capabilities with 5 or more years of relevant professional experience, relies on skills, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project assignments. Independently and in teamwork situations, performs a variety of complicated technical consulting services activities. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation in job performance is expected. Proven customer service skills on an expert level with strong customer focus Experience designing and/or modifying infrastructure architectures, including complex GIS Systems Advanced knowledge of: spatial data management, analysis, and web service development using the ArcGIS 10.2.x suite of products. The Ability to develop GIS applications using ArcGIS Development toolkits including the ArcGIS API for Javascript. Experience with the Dojo and JQuery JavaScript frameworks.
