Description: The Office of Strategic Consulting is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to research, analyze, and develop business cases for potential complex institutional projects. JobSummary: The Business Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing, and developing business cases for potential complex institutional project investments. The Business Analyst conducts business analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align solutions with strategic objectives and priorities. The Business Analyst prepares initial scope assumptions, and/or functional, system, and project requirements. Performs activities that are more complex, has latitude to apply skills to solve some problems without review, and has latitude to devise the approach and method to performing assignments. Regularly performs long-term or non-routine assignments with minimal supervisory intervention, seeking assistance when significant deviations are proposed or when unprecedented problems arise. Education: Bachelors degree required. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: - Business analysis experience - Ability to perform complex data or financial analysis - Attention to detail with the ability to synthesize data and information into presentations and supporting materials Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in Finance, Human Resources, Research Administration - Strong communication skills; written and verbal - Excellent notetaking skills with attention to detail - Ability to draw conclusions from analysis and present recommendations or recommended options - Ability to research and gather relevant information and ask compelling questions Principal duties: - Collaborates with stakeholders to define preliminary project vision, scope and objectives - Gathers stakeholder requirements using appropriate methods - Identifies, analyzes, and validates stakeholder business needs and requirements and works with stakeholders and/or project team to prioritize collected requirements - Performs analyses and prepares reports to communicate business needs - Determines and recommends potential and optimal problem solutions - Performs future state operations modeling, estimates ongoing operational cost models and an initial plan for benefits realization - Develops business cases for potential projects with clear cost/benefit analysis, return on investment (ROI), or other measures to understand project value - Assists senior staff in developing strategic approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issues - May work with external vendors or service providers - May work with cross-functional project teams and may manage portions of the project life cycle.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
