The person will continue to improve the quality of deliverables produced by the DCF Business Intelligence Section through a focus on, dashboard design, full life cycle management and the application of best practices. The person in this position will guide the visualization development team in Tableau design and development activities, document Tableau standards, and outline the roadmap for DCFs use of Tableau. Ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas: • Demonstrated experience with Tableau Server Infrastructure, specifically publishing and back end administration. • Knowledge of Tableau optimization and tuning is a plus • Collaborate with business content specialists, business analysts, dashboard developers and technical architects in transforming business requirements into analytic dashboards reflecting usability best practices and current design trends. • Champion dashboard quality, usability and reliability by documenting and applying best practices to design and development projects. • Verify design specifications are consistently applied and quality standards are followed. • Communicate project status, risks and recommendations, to project stakeholders for assigned dashboard design and development projects. • Assist in managing, and controlling scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects. • Provide direction and mentoring to developers and team members on Tableau development, dashboard usability, user experience design and design best practices. • Support the development of the DCF Tableau roadmap • Experience with business intelligence visualization tools and business intelligence tools a plus • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in visual reporting development, including hands on development of analytics dashboards and working with complex data sets. • Minimum of four (4) years of Tableau development experience. • Experience with Tableau v9.x or greater desktop and server is required. • Experience building and deploying Tableau dashboards for multiple mid-to large size organizations • Understanding of visual design principles; graphic design, layout, typography, and color. • Ability to communicate abstract concepts verbally and visually. • Familiarity with SAS and ETL tools and processes. • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent, 3 to 6-month BI dashboard design and development projects. • Loves telling stories with data • Develop, maintain and continually enhance a strategy around Tableau Data (TDE) files • Partner with the security team to develop standards for hosting Tableau services/application. • Participate in design reviews of prototypes, and applications ready for production • Develop a solution/framework for provisioning data for consumption by business users who create Tableau reports. • Maintain existing and developed Tableau code and optimize/streamline informational lining and feeds. • Integrate tasks/activities into project plans in support of product enhancements Other Notes to Vendors: 1) An in-person interview will be required before a final hire is made. 2) Please bring three (3) business references to an interview. 3) Disclose on the resume the subcontractor employer, if applicable. 4) Selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check. 5) The position is for 1960 hours annually.
