Perform various coding and programming tasks, such as design or development of Web front-end, back-end Web-based applications, and Web/Internet services. May involve coding and integration of text, graphics, sound, and/or video. Requires moderate skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Works with moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. This position will support the Fisheries Management Database team by developing web applications as part of the Fisheries Management System migration to the DNR. Tasks for this position include, but are not limited to: Development of web applications using Microsoft .Net framework with an Oracle database and related development technologies such as ASP.Net along with using related languages and tools. Translating existing APEX coded data entry forms and reports to .NET using translator code libraries, Custom .Net coding required. Implementation of user interface changes based on feedback from database team and staff testers. Maintain and develop the backend Oracle database to support the needs of the project. Create test plans and execute testing to ensure business needs are met. Deploy new applications including data entry forms and reports. Document clear and up to date development/design methods used for the projects configuration and code base, including commenting of code. Manage version control of all source code/components. Maintain the projects file storage systems. Develop and maintain new and existing batch jobs for processing data. Developer must follow DNR standards and procedures for management and versioning of source code, file management and change management processes. This position must look out for security concerns or issues when developing applications and follow security related protocols. Applications must be built and supported in compliance with Federal and State requirements. Work will be remote during COVID restrictions, will return to on-site work once COVID restrictions have been lifted.
