Onsite, at this time Hybrid Schedule during pandemic Description : The Department of Natural Resources seeks to hire a .Net Developer III in support of the Bureau of Wildlife Management to design, develop and implement applications in .Net. These applications currently exist in the Java platform and need to be migrated to .Net including potential enhancements. This position will report to the DNR IT Custom Applications IT Supervisor. This is a large complex project with multiple applications needing to meet critical functionality for the Wildlife program. The DNR would like all Java applications migrated to .Net prior to May 1st, 2023 if at all possible. This requires full-time (40hrs/week) work for a candidate with advanced developer skill sets and experience. The most qualified candidate will have: ? Advanced level application development skillsets including Analysis and Development within Microsoft .Net Framework. ? Experience applying Object Oriented Design. ? Coding experience in .Net MVC and/or .Net Core framework, including C#, VB.Net, Java script and Bootstrap. ? Experience applying Standard Security methods to custom applications. ? Experience in SSRS for developing reports. ? Experience developing applications with Oracle backend databases including experience writing stored procedures and SQL. ? Experience working in Visual Studio as well as Azure DevOps including keeping work items updated in addition to code management. ? Experience with coding standards and best practices. ? Experience utilizing the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and following IT Best Practices ? Experience following Waterfall or Iterative/Agile/Scrum Methodologies for completing projects from Initiation through Implementation and Maintenance. ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ? Collaborates with others and is a team player to ensure project success. Additional skill sets that will also be helpful: ? Experience with Java Development as applications are migrating from Java to .Net. ? Experience with testing tasks such as identifying test scenarios, test data setup, execution, and documenting test results. ? Experience writing technical documentation. ? Experience with GIS as it is widely used at the DNR. ? Experience working in Government. The primary focus of this position will be to design, develop, test, implement and maintain .Net applications migrated from the existing Java applications. There are multiple applications that will need to be migrated to .Net utilizing DNR IT standards, software and tools. This position will work at the direction of IT Supervisor, Appl Architect and Project Manager. Tasks of this position include, but are not limited to: 1. Orienting self to current Java applications by working with others 2. Identifying a solution/design working in collaboration with project team members. 3. Coding programs and applications using DNR standards and guidance for best coding and database practices, adhering to security requirements. This includes any integrations with other systems. 4. Testing the applications by documenting scenarios and test results using DNR approved tools and processes. 5. Managing code and version control using Azure DevOps 6. Assisting with deploying the web-based applications, batch jobs and reports. 7. Working on priority tasks and keeping tasks updated with current status in Azure DevOps.
